SFDS Gives Back

Students, parents and staff of St. Francis de Sales school have been working extra hard this season to spread good tidings and holiday cheer. The school ran their annual food drive for the Little Sisters of the Poor in preparation of Thanksgiving. Everything from canned food, coffee and lotion was collected and delivered to the Little Sisters of the Poor to assist them in all their charitable work.

When the typhoon hit the Philippines, the school wanted to pay it forward. St. Francis de Sales held a dress down day and bake sale where the $2,500 raised went to aid the Philippines.

In their latest project, the students are helping Toys for Tots. The children were asked to bring an unwrapped toy to be given to a child in need. Each class held their own collection and the toys will be delivered to St. Mary’s Parish a few days prior to Christmas. These charitable works were made possible with the assistance of the National Junior Honor Society members and their moderator, Mrs. Greene.
