Feeling Full: Residents Get A Taste Of Rockaway

In the first event of its kind in Rockaway, residents from all around, including The Wave editorial staff, got a tasting from 10 different restaurants that make up HEART on Saturday, December 7th. A $10 pass gave residents the opportunity to sample some favorite treats along Rockaway’s own restaurant row.

The restaurants included newcomers like Uma’s, Sayra’s Wine Bar and Playland Pizza, as well as older establishments such as Thai Rock, Veggie Island, 101 Deli, Bungalow Bar, Elegante and Surfside Bagels. Even though each tasting was worth $1, the restaurants were not stingy with their servings. Elegante offered a full regular slice. Bungalow Bar let guests sample their chili, quesadillas with all the fixings and a mac and cheese ball. Veggie Island helped warm participants up with a chai tea. After making the rounds, residents were left full and satisfied and the restaurants were able to show newcomers that they’re worth visiting again.
