Scholars’ Girls Battle In Semi-Finals

On Sunday November 24th The Scholars’ Academy Girls Volleyball team faced off against the undefeated Fort Hamilton High School in the semifinals of the PSAL B Division Playoffs.

The Lady Seawolves fought hard but lost to the overpowering Tigers of Fort Hamilton. The team lost 2 to 0, losing the first match 25-13. The Lady Seawolves made a stand in the second match but finally succumbed to The Tigers 25-18.

After besting The Scholars’ Academy, Fort Hamilton High School went on to win the PSAL B Division Championship by beating Riverdale/Kingsbridge Academy from The Bronx 2 to 0.

This makes it the 5th year in a row that Coach Kerri Naples and her team have made to the semifinals of the playoffs.

The team sadly says goodbye six seniors: Joelle Ashton, Vanessa Domingo, Jessica Glaz, Elizabeth Lisk, Victoria Mancini, and Hannah Sautner. Coach Naples and Jessica Glaz are now looking to continue their winning ways with the Scholars’Academy Girls Basketball Team in the PSAL’s Queens B1 East Division.
