Suicide At Shore Front Parkway

By Dan Guarino

“I saw it when it happened. It was horrendous,” a resident of Dayton Towers East said, speaking about the suicide that took place on Thursday, November 7th.

According to police an “emotionally disturbed” woman jumped from a 6th floor window at 7800 Shore Front Parkway at around 7:17 a.m.

The victim was brought to St. John’s Hospital in Far Rockaway where she was pronounced dead on arrival. No other details were being released at this time.

“There were children outside (when it happened),” the apartment complex resident noted, “waiting for their school buses. It was so sad.”

Stating there had been another suicide attempt at Dayton within the past few months, the resident, who asked that her name not be used, reported that many have experienced significant post-Sandy stress.

She hoped that others would reach out for help.
