Run, Scholars’, Run

The Scholars’Academy High School Co-ed Cross Country Team has had a very successful second season in the PSAL.

The boys and girls teams competed at Cunningham Park every Tuesday and Wednesday for the past five weeks. During this time, the team earned some excellent accomplishments.

The two freshmen on the team, James McManus and Ryan Panetta, each won medals for coming in the top 10 in their age group.

This past weekend the team competed in the Queens Borough Championship Race at Van Cortlandt Park.

Seven boys and five girls competed in this race, each runner beating their previous personal record.

Next Saturday, November 9th, the team will compete in their final race, the PSAL City Cross Country Championship, also at Van Cortlandt Park.

The Scholar’s Academy sports organizers noted the school is very proud of the accomplishments of their cross-country team this year and thanks all of the athletes and parents for all of their support throughout the season.
