There really is something wrong with this Directv outfit. Perhaps other Wave readers have had, or soon will have, yet another Sandy-related issue to deal with.
In mid-November, while displaced in Manhattan, I had time to close out LIPA, Keyspan, and Directv, and paid all final bills. I knew the apartment was destroyed, but the customer rep from Directv talked me into allowing the account to be in a 6-month suspension until further notice. I found out later the apartment would not be repaired. I am at another address and have Cable TV.
Today, November 6th, I received a collection notice from an aggressive outfit called AFNI INC for Directv for the amount of $163.67. It seems that after six months suspension, Directv took it upon themselves to resume service, and bill me for it, all without my knowledge.
Adding insult to injury, getting reason and logic into the heads of their robotic human personnel would try the patience of even a pope.
Beware of Directv. While Sandy displaced they adamantly insisted I go to the destroyed apartment and return their destroyed modem and dish! I laughed at that, but Directv was the only outfit that gave me grief during those days. And now this.
