NYC Parks Seeks Planning Input

The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking input on the second phase of the rebuilding of the Rockaway boardwalk and the improvement of city parks across the peninsula.

The Community Planning Workshop will be held on Sunday, November 10th, from 12 – 2 p.m. at Scholars’ Academy at 320 Beach 104th Street.

According to Parks, this is an opportunity for local residents to be involved in the planning process for parks in the community.

The workshop will build on previous community input to develop recommendations and priorities, from the city limit to Beach 149th Street, from bay to ocean.

Residents will have the chance to share and discuss ideas focused around three themes: recreation, natural resources and resiliency, and community connections.

The meeting will allow for discussion with NYC Parks, the design consultants and other community members.
