Williams, a first grade student at St. Camillus, and his family were invited to meet the president during his recent trip to New York on October 25th. Williams got the chance to see Air Force One land at the airport. The president stepped out and approached the young boy. “The President walks directly towards our son, he then greets us with a warm smile and handshake and continues to greet all of the guests,” Tyler’s father, Edwin Williams said. President Obama then boarded a helicopter to Brooklyn to visit a high school in Crown Heights.

Williams was snapping pictures of the president on his iPad, not expecting him to come up to him directly and shake his hand. “I asked my son how did this event make him feel and he says he will not wash his hands,” Edwin Williams said. “So I said ‘What if Obama has a cold?’ and he says ‘then I’ll be sick too.’”
