Small Business Services Offer: A Peek Inside 116th Street Vacancies

On Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00 a.m., the Beach 116th Street Partnership – a newly formed merchants organization – along with the New York City Department of Small Business Services (SBS), MasterCard, Capital One, and Pratt Area Community Council, will showcase the retail space and business opportunities on Beach 116th Street during the “Rolling Up the Gates” event.

The event will provide entrepreneurs a guided tour of the commercial corridor and vacant commercial space, and the opportunity to meet with local financial and business resource organizations to discuss available small business services and reasons to locate on Beach 116th Street. The event aims to raise awareness of Beach 116th Street and why businesses should call it home.

A recent survey conducted by JGSC Group found that the Rockaway peninsula is home to more than 55,000 consumers with an average household income of $68,700. Eighty-seven percent of those consumers want more restaurants and stores, and would shop locally if more options were available. The sales, investment, and growth opportunities present on Beach 116th Street allow for an attractive environment to entrepreneurs.

Rolling Up the Gates will begin at 231 Beach 116th Street.
