An Intern’s Take
I want to first thank all those who said a prayer for Gio. As he continues to fight I ask that you continue to pray. I coached G for more than five years. He was always a little on the stubborn side so I know he is fighting.
I went to see Gio Friday night. He was surrounded by family and friends. As I prepared to share with you this week, I had some time to catch up with Queen Esther who was ready with a word of encouragement "My cousin Allen was in a coma. They said he was brain dead but he is alive and well today. You have to keep your faith. Doctors are still just practicing medicine, and God always has the last say so."
I took those words to heart and know that you have to believe. The bible says faith is the substance of things not seen. You must believe to have faith.
There are many times that we find ourselves in situations that may seem hopeless but those are the instances that we must step back and allow God to do what he does. The song says he’s never late, but always on time.
Queen has been quite busy preparing for her seventh marathon. She is running to bring awareness to many issues, one of them being childhood obesity. Let’s support her and all those out there running for a cause. This year’s race is special coming on the anniversary of Hurricane Sandy. If you recall, Mayor Bloomberg canceled last year’s event.
Don't forget to say a prayer for my little man Gio. Also October is breast cancer survivor awareness month. Let’s support all those women who have fought and continue to be strong. Please continue to email me your thoughts and concerns to email@example.com Thank you for your continued support and prayers. And don’t forget to read The Wave!
