Almost a year after being severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy and after much reconstruction, the establishment was ready to serve customers in its indoor bar area.

It has been operating solely from its back deck area, which reopened several months ago.

Walker Hornung, of Walker and the Brotherhood of the Grape, hosted a variety of performers who got the crowd clapping, dancing and singing along.

A highlight was a duet with English singer-songwriter Joe Cang on a heartfelt rendition of the Sam Cooke classic “A Change Is Gonna Come.” The theme seemed to resonate with the crowd.
