The Fishing Report
The fluke weighed in at 13.4 lbs. and was 33” in length. It was an excellent ending to fluke season for Sean. (Fluke season ended on Sunday September 29th.)
Some larger fall bluefish are starting to show up more frequently in the Bay, and 5 “keeper” bass were seen coming off a boat docked behind Big Ron’s as well.
Tom’s Wave Service Station in Rockaway Park reports that there is no change in the porgy action (it’s still on). There was very little striped bass action at the beaches this weekend. Some of the surf anglers were doing better with catching fluke than striped bass.
East End report: East of the Atlantic Beach Bridge to the construction dock. Bernie Matzen reports that not much has changed since last week; there are reports of small sporadic bluefish showing up in the channel.
