Rockaway’s Riddled With Ritters.

Seems every time we turn around a “Ritter” is born. Donald Ritter and his wife Casey, just had an adorable baby boy on September 8th and they named him Carlton. Donald comes from a family of eight children, six sisters and one brother, Louis. Donald is well known in Breezy Point. He is the owner of the Breezy Point Surf Shop at 61 Point Breeze Avenue that was destroyed by Superstorm Sandy. He has managed to set up temporary quarters at the lifeguard shack, a few steps away from his original shop which is being refurbished and will open ASAP. All odds were stacked against him, but God did not forget him. God came through and gave him a beautiful, healthy bundle of joy. Wish you and Casey all the happiness in the world with your new Ritter addition. Donald is there to serve you and he needs your business more than ever. But this generation is going to even out the score with the additions over the past eight months. According to Patty Ritter Crowley, brother Louis’ daughter, Elizabeth and Damon had a boy, Dylan; Robin(sister Claire’s daughter) Ritter Strong and Michael Strong had a third baby, a boy, named Jackson and sister Maureen’s son, Richard had a son, Luke. What a prolific family! More to rock the Rockaways. Donald is celebrating another birthday, November 19th.

I met Daniel Boulud at his Bar Restaurant at an Only Lyon tasting luncheon. Only 15 journalists were invited. The salmon dish was the best I ever had. It was all the finest. We also enjoyed a presentation of Lyon, France which is a culinary center of the world. You foodies out there may be interested in a culinary tasting tour vacation of Lyon. The Food Factory is there where they train cooks to be top chefs. And the country itself is so beautiful. You can become addicted to Lyon.

The Breakaway is the newest Norwegian Cruise Ship and I was invited on board. It is huge and is like a city itself. They have a Haven section for VIPs only (70 cabins); their own private pool, lounge, restaurant and luxury cabins, some with two baths and all with balconies. Then another section for the solo traveler. Only singles, cabins, key accessible. And solos have their own lounge. A basketball court on top deck, miniature golf and a gigantic tunnel to slide down and eventually hit the pool. What a thrill. This is really a fun vacation. They have great specials and on board credit and discounts and the price starts at $549p.p. AND…AWAY WE GO!!!
