No Need For A Phone

Dear Editor:

No more phone calls, not even a postcard....What did I do wrong? What should I have done? Next I'll be hearing, "It's not you, it's me." I have become chopped liver. No more messages from Harry Belafonte, Tony Bennett, Bella Abzug's daughter, Melinda Katz's friend, Joe Addabbo, Lew Simon, Peter Vallone. I feel like yesterdays' newspaper, discarded, used as wrapping paper for flounder.

I anxiously await the interrupting dinner time calls.

Then it dawns on me. None of these elected officials reached out during the storm, the aftermath or for that matter, ever. I'm getting rid of my land line.
