Paying It Forward From BC To Colorado

“Remember all those that helped us during Sandy. It is because of their generosity and compassion that we now look for ways to help others in need. Colorado is experiencing terrible flooding and they need our help,” says Jim Mangan in an e-mail calling upon all those hit by last year’s hurricane to ‘pay it forward.’

His wife, Cindy Mangan, is setting up a collection point in Broad Channel for Operation Kid Comfort, which will be sending supplies to the people of Colorado.

Portions of that state have been deluged with severe flooding which has engulfed entire towns, left hundreds missing and has caused the deaths of at least eight people.

“Colorado is in bad shape with the flooding,” Mangan noted, “so we need to start collecting supplies and getting them out there! Gift cards, batteries, flashlights, toiletries, boots, first aid kits, gloves, cleaning supplies, contractor bags, water, blankets, snacks, etc. For those who went through Hurricane Sandy, think about the supplies you needed right after the storm and also the list is similar to what we needed when we collected for Oklahoma!”

Anyone wishing to donate or help can contact Cindy Colleran Mangan at 119 Noel Road, 347- 885-4613 or via Facebook.

Contact people and drop off locations are also being set up in Breezy Point, Marine Park/Gerritsen Beach and New Jersey.
