The Fishing Report
Big Ron from “Big Ron’s Bait and Tackle” in Howard Beach reports that Porgy action is busy with more keepers (10”) taken near the Marine Parkway Bridge area. Weakfish in the 5-8 pound range are feeding in the bay as well. More Blue Fish in the 10 pound range are getting here daily. Fluke are here but, are short (less than 19”).
East End report:
(Debs Inlet to Long Beach Bridge) Bernie Matzen (who fishes the area daily) reports that the Fluke are moving into deeper water off shore, still some short Fluke around but, the action is slowing. Small Sea Bass are reported, no Blue Fish or Striped Bass showing up yet.
Tom’s Citgo: Rockaway Park
Tom reports that Striped Bass action is on the rise in the surf along the beach but, with limited beach access they may be hard to reach. Porgy action is constant in the bay, and Weakfish are being taken (weak fish limit is 1 fish). Tom reports that Virginia Spots are showing up in the bay as well.
