Sailing Into The Sunset

The American Littoral Society is ready to set sail on a Jamaica Bay Sunset Ecology Cruise on Saturday, September 28th.

ALS Northeast Chapter Director, Don Riepe and noted marine biologist, Mickey Cohen will lead a three hour narrated boat tour of Jamaica Bay on the vessel Golden Sunshine.

Participants will learn about the history and ecology of the bay and see nesting and migrating hawks, falcons, ospreys and various shorebirds and waterfowl.

The tour costs $55.00 (kids under 16 are $20.00) and includes wine, cheese, fruit and snacks.

The American Littoral Society is working in partnership with the National Park Service Gateway National Recreation Area, NYC Audubon Society and The Sierra Club of NYC.

The cruise will run from 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. The boat departs from Pier 4 at Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn.
