Locals Lending A Hand,You Can Too

A decorated veteran, Captain Harrow had been deployed to Afghanistan. On May 15, 2012, he was leading a team of Green Berets, when he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED). Harrow lost both his legs above the knee, a large portion of flesh from his right forearm, and two fingers.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation and the Gary Sinise Foundation are building a Smart Home for Harrow and his family. All proceeds will go toward that effort.

Some locals along with the Rockaway WISH, the Belle Harbor Yacht Club and the Graybeards are throwing a benefit and inviting everyone to come out and help a vet in need.

On Saturday, September 21st, from 7 to 11 p.m. they will host an event at the Belle Harbor Yacht Club to honor U.S. Army Captain Ben Harrow and raise funds to build a new home for him.

Tickets are $50.00 each. There will be food, wine, beer, 50/50 raffles, a Chinese Auction, a DJ and live band.

Donations may also be made in Harrow’s name at www.Tunnel2- Towers.com or www.Graybeards.com.

Ticket purchases or questions about donations can be directed to Kevin Judge via KGJudge77@gmail.com or 718-536-8866, or Christopher McDonald at atc7mcdon@gmail.com or 732-908-0832.

The Belle Harbor Yacht Club is located at 533 Beach 126th Street.

All are welcome.
