Common Sense Planning Needed

Dear Editor:

I was walking with a friend of mine and the thought came to me. I said it would have been a lot easier to have put a second floor on concession buildings at Beach 106th, 97th and 86th. It could have been made out of brick and wouldn’t rust. Anything else on the ocean will rust after time.

I’ve been in Rockaway 63 years and was a city lifeguard for nine and a Gateway lifeguard for two. Gateway has a brick structure and it was still there after Sandy.

Please don’t get me started. I’m not an engineer but either put an inlet at Beach 32nd Street or place rock jetties, because pumping sand is like pulling on Superman’s cape.
