Rockspot Bike And Paddle Tour

There’s always new things to see and new ways to explore the Rockaways.

On Saturday, September 21st, the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance will host the Rockspot Bike and Paddle Tour, from 1 to 4 p.m.

Starting at the Firehouse 59, RWA’s home base, at Beach 59th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard, the event is an interactive bicycle tour that allows participants to explore select sites of environmental and historical significance all along the Rockaway Peninsula.

The bike ride will go from Beach 59th Street westward to Riis Landing. There the group will join National Park Ranger John Daskalakis for a paddle along Jamaica Bay.

The RWA notes they have a select number of bikes that can be loaned for this tour. Bikes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Advanced registration required. Online registration can be accessed at the RWA website at www.rwalliance.org/rwa/events.

RWA organizers expressed their special thanks to National Park Service for sponsoring this event.
