Share The Space

Dear Editor,

I have lived in the Rockaways all my life and I would like to address the parking issue almost everywhere in the five NYC boroughs. There seems to be no consideration for other drivers. I have noticed where a two car space was turned into one due to the selfishness of a driver (not parking close to the car in front or back of). With alternate side of the street parking, summer visiting and beachgoers in the Rockaways parking is horrendous especially on the weekends. When I park I always think of the next person knowing how hard spaces are to find. Why can't we be more considerate of others?

I agree, but often what seems

I agree, but often what seems selfish is not. Sometimes a car is parked close to another one, but if that car pulls out and another pulls in, the space may be much wider.
