Entertainment from rap to zumba and hot dogs and burgers from Applebee’s kept the party going. Among those sponsoring the event were the 101st Precinct, the 101st Precinct Community Council and Councilman Donovan Richards.

Children, families, friends and neighbors of all ages came out to enjoy a full day of activities that lasted till after dusk.

Event goers strolled along the paths of Far Rockaway’s O’Donohue Park, sat along the benches, walked the dunes and gathered around the park’s tables.

Kids enjoyed bouncy slides, games, face painting, sprinklers and even a kid-sized colorful train ride.

Later in the evening, hundreds of people stretched out over the hill in front of the newly-renovated park’s performance stage, shaking, bouncing and moving to the music of a massive, crowdpleasing zumba session.
