Perfect Day In Rockaway
My husband, Martin, and I drove to Beach 74th Street in Rockaway on Monday. Our friend, Harvey Pedersen, met us on the boardwalk. The water was cold and refreshing and the boardwalk was delightful.
At noon, we heard the church bells ring from St. Rose of Lima Church. Then we went for a delightful lunch on the waterside patio of the Bungalow Restaurant on Beach 92st Street. Harvey and Martin had the fish and chips. Martin is from County Clare and he enjoys a nice plate of fish and chips. He got them at the Bungalow.
My blue-cheese burger was delicious and the potato/spinach soup was good, too. Our server was young, pretty and attentive. The busboy was attentive and adorable. Well done.
It was nice to meet John Donnelly at the post office. One more thing: It was great to see so many American flags proudly flying throughout Rockaway: Shore Front Parkway, the Boulevard, Beach 91st Street, Dayton Towers and everywhere. God Bless America. God Bless Rockaway Beach.
