Students from Bishop Kearney High School may have moved on from PS/MS 114, St. Francis de Sales and St. Rose of Lima, but clearly they have not left what they learned behind.

Each year, members of Kearney’s freshman class are given the opportunity to honor an adult from their former school who has made a difference in their lives.

This year, teachers and administrators from 24 schools attended a reception in their honor, along with the girls who were recognizing them. Girls from schools in Rockaway hosted Laura Ferrogamo (PS/MS 114Q), Sue Ellen Foti and Maureen Gigliello (St. Francis de Sales) and Rita Murphy (St. Rose of Lima), women who had supported and inspired them as a teacher and a friend.

The girls were excited to have the opportunity to personally thank them and present them with a small gift.
