The TrapBags are ugly. I hope they will provide the protection that Parks Department says they will but let’s not settle for something that looks like Hefty trash bags piled up after a Sanitation strike. Couldn’t they have installed sand colored bags? The bags are also set up right at where the boardwalk was. Well when they start construction on the boardwalk rebuild won’t they have to remove or destroy these bags? Someone said these bags will be the start of a dune. Well then the start of the dune will come to an end soon if heavy equipment comes in to rebuild the boardwalk. Maybe they should have put them away from the concrete stanchions. Someone tell me why they are where they are.
I also heard that the baffle walls they installed are only to stop sand from blowing onto the beach. That doesn’t sound like much protection. Weren’t these walls supposed to stop some flooding? Wake me when it’s over!
