Ohab Zedek To Host Relief Concert

Congregation Ohab Zedek is hosting a Relief Concert to raise funds to help the local Jewish community.

When Hurricane Sandy hit, numerous synagogues were among the storm’s victims and many Jewish families were impacted. Congregation Ohab Zedek of Belle Harbor, which has recently reopened, but not yet rebuilt, is hosting a concert to raise funds for various synagogues and families. The concert will include performances by Benny Friedman, Aryeh Kunstler, The Rambam Choir and special guest Shloime Dachs.

Congregation Ohab Zedek, the largest Shul for the orthodox community, was uninhabitable after Sandy as it had more than $1 million in damage. The entire lower floor, where the Beis HaMedrish and the Yeshivah of Belle Harbor are located, was flooded. The congregation lost hundreds of texts including Torah scrolls. Rabbi Tsvi Selengut, the Rabbi of Ohab Zedek, will facilitate the distribution of funds and ensure that those members and institutions who need the most help will receive it.

The concert will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 23rd at Congregation Ohab Zedek, 134-01 Rockaway Beach Boulevard. Tickets, will be available at the door or at www.rebuildbelleharbor.com.
