Men's Health Event in Far Rock
In our nation and in our community one of the least addressed concerns is men's health issues. For young males between the ages of 16-24, one of the leading causes of death is gun violence. As we continue to recover from the lingering effects of Hurricane Sandy, it is important to take note that June is Men's Health Awareness Month. The purpose of Men's Health Awareness Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage treatment as well as address the violence in the community among men and boys. I Grind Do You, Make My Mother Proud, Five Towns Far Rockaway Arts and Sports Alliance, and Wings of Faith Outreach Ministries proudly present the 1st Annual I Grind Do You Men's Health Awareness Festival.
This event will take place on June 15th at O' Donahue Park on Beach 17th Street at the stage and park area. Start time for this event is 12 noon and it will end at 4p.m.
Event planners invite all to attend and support the community as they look to educate and engage people from all walks. “One Far Rockaway, together we stand divided we fall,” said a representative.
