BCWins KFC Playground Contest
The results are in for Kentucky Fried Chicken’s Li’l Playground Makeover Facebook Contest and Broad Channel is a winner!
In late March, KFC invited people to enter to win makeovers for their local community playgrounds. Based on the results a total of $25,000 in grants would be awarded to community playgrounds across the country.
“We received stories and photos from some very deserving organizations,” said Jason Marker, Chief Marketing Officer for KFC U.S.
Broad Channel was one of two grand prize-winning playgrounds. The other is St. Clair, Missouri.
The $11,000 grant Broad Channel will receive will be used to rebuild a playground that was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
“Every house in this area was destroyed. I want to help make a positive impact for the children of the community that have seen so much destruction,“ said Jennifer Mungeer, who entered the contest on behalf of the Broad Channel community, “We want to make this a place of joy so kids can focus on being kids again.”
