All Around The Dome
The MoMA PS1 VW Dome has become a focal point for programs that run the gamut and appeal to a wide range of tastes, from children’s programs and avant garde films, music events and civic and group meetings.
Over the next two weeks, the following programs will be opened to all at the Dome.

Arts in Parts
Rockaway’s own Arts in Parts presents kids’ activity and celebration of summer. Arts in Parts reaches out to kids in areas of New York City by bringing imaginative workshops directly into the community. After the effects of Hurricane Sandy, they saw a need in particular areas for children to be stimulated and engaged. All programs are led by artists, educators, and creatives, who are passionate about involving kids in diverse and unique learning experiences. Their hope is to empower young minds through creativity, critical thinking and curiosity for the natural world. Free and open to the public.
Saturday, June 8th, 2 – 5p.m.

The students of the Advertising Design and Graphic Arts Department of City Tech, CUNY, will show the design work that they did for the Rockaway based non-profit worker-training organization You Are Not Alone (YANA). New Moon Horseshoe Crab Rituals

Make horseshoe crab carapace prints. Receive moon phase manicures or make your own moon phase calendar with a discussion about vernal tide pools and the role of tides in the spawning of the horseshoe crab. The crab eggs play an essential role in sustaining hundreds of migratory shorebirds of Jamaica Bay as they make their way from the equator to the arctic. Free and open to the public.
