Simon Says It’s Official

Longtime Democratic District Leader, Lew Simon, officially announced his candidacy for City Council. In a statement he said: “I proudly announce that I am a candidate for the City Council from Rockaway, Breezy Point, Broad Channel, Howard Beach, Ozone Park and Woodhaven. I have served most of the residents as District Leader for the past 19 years.

“After Hurricane Sandy we pushed the Bloomberg administration to help our struggling residents to recover,” Simon said. “We are demanding protection from the ocean and bay and restoration of our boardwalk. We are fighting for a free, permanent ferry and reopening of the Rockaway Beach line. We will continue to get street lights repaired, traffic signals installed, water bills corrected and clogged sewers cleaned. And we will continue to provide personal service at 718-945-1216.”
