A Far Rock Mess

Dear Editor:

I'm not one to complain, but what happened this morning in front of my building was absolutely the worst example of planning I've ever seen.

While one project was going on in the ballpark, a slew of cars and trucks began arriving by the minute, blocking access to our parking lot. One could ask, how does an emergency vehicle get through? Are they aware of the senior population in our building? (Ocean Park, Beach 17th Street).

I am very happy to see any work being done in Far Rock, but this was a mess. The so-called lifeguard shack looks like throwback '70s era construction booth (Horrible to look at while sitting on your terrace). I actually went down to ask one of the workers, "What's going on?" He looked stunned, and told me he “didn't know,” he was just told to show up. So we now had three separate ops going on at once, with each group not knowing the others were showing up the same day. The lifeguards, the baseball construction crew and the workers installing the two lifeguard shacks. Was anyone in charge?
