Police Search For Shooter

Police are searching for a gunman who shot a man on Beach 86th Street and the Rockaway Freeway. On Sunday, May 19th, a 30-year-old black male was shot at around 11 a.m. Sources tentatively identified the victim as Lamar McGill, who was shot in the left leg. His injuries were not considered life threatening.

No arrests have been made and the incident is being investigated by 100 Precinct Detectives. If you have any information about this incident or the shooter, contact the 100 Precinct at 718-318-4223 and ask for Police Officer Fink.

NYPD detectives are also looking into a second incident. On May 13th at 2:18 p.m., a male was shot multiple times opposite 10-32 Beach 20th Street. The victim, not identified at this time, had four gunshot wounds, all to his left side: ankle, groin area, hip and chest. He was treated by EMS and removed to Jamaica Hospital. The victim's condition was not immediately lifethreatening at that time. The incident is being investigated by the 101 Precinct Detective Squad at 718- 868-3429.
