Stack Bundles Basketball Tourney Begins
With week one in the books the Stack Bundles Stop the Violence Basketball Tournament has been all it was expected to be and then some. The success of last year’s tournament has set a standard and this year’s looks to be bigger and better than ever.
The commissioner for the events Coach Kenu said, “It’s a great look for Far Rockaway. Since Hurricane Sandy the community has been divided. The tournament is helping to bring the community together. It’s about unity. For the three hours that we are here ‘beefs’ are put aside.”
This is a platform for youth to show their ability. The community has come together to show support. The players and crowds are there with one goal in mind and that is to represent the memory of Stack Bundles.
The Stack Bundles Stop the Violence Tournament is an example of what Far Rockaway has to offer. Too often we are reminded of violence and negativity but when we come together as a community we can accomplish anything.
