Finding Nemo In Far Rockaway

There will be a fun, free and family friendly screening of the kids’ favorite “Finding Nemo” hosted by New York Restoration Project (NYRP) as part of its Summer Movie Nights throughout the city.

Screening of the animated big hit will take place on Tuesday, June 4th starting at sunset, at the Beach 17th performance area at O’Donohue Park. The area is just off Seagirt Boulevard and adjacent to the Rockaway Beach promenade.

Children and families are welcome to bring a picnic and blanket, and NYRP will provide complimentary hot popcorn served in compostable bags! NYRP, the Bette Midler-founded non-profit dedicated to transforming open space in underserved communities, will be hosting this event as part of an effort to help activate spaces in the Rockaways after Hurricane Sandy and the months following in recovery.

City-wide NYRP sponsors many more programs, including free yoga, chicken-keeping workshops, theater performances and more—all outdoors, all free, and all open to the public. In addition to hosting the Far Rockaway Movie Night, they also recently completed rapid repair at the Seagirt Community Garden, which was destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
