Photos by Dan Guarino Dozens of residents, volunteers, friends, neighbors and families came out Saturday, May 11th, for the Annual Adopt-A-Tree and Spring Planting hosted by the Broad Channel Civic Association’s Beautification Committee.

Though skies were overcast and gray, rain held off until well after the event. Small groups cleaned, pulled out weeds and roots, and planted new flowers and decorated tree pits and green areas along the Cross Bay Boulevard median strip, much of which was damaged in the storm.

After the event, organizers predicted that “we will be blooming all over the place!”
