Holistic Health For Kids

Recognizing that little people sometimes need big attention the non-profit Smallwater group has announced free Monday afternoon “Healing for Kids at Smallwater.”

They will be offering treatment and holistic guidance from New York licensed acupuncturists trained in treating children.

Available treatments will include acupuncture, moxa, herbal and other homeopathic remedies for common complaints and storm related stress. Ear points therapy is available to any parent accompanying a child. All treatments will be on a first come, first served basis.

Little Waves sessions, for children ages 1 thru 5 will be from 1:30-2:45 p.m. every Monday.

Big Waves, for kids 5 to17 years, will be from 2:45 to 4 p.m.

Inquiries can be sent to Aurora.appointments@gmail.com.

Smallwater is a grassroots disaster relief initiative headquartered at 183 Beach 96th Street, Rockaway Beach.

Formed out of necessity in the immediate aftermath of Sandy, the group describes itself as an “initiative led by a core group of Rockaway residents who are deeply invested in rebuilding a sustainable Rockaway community.”

What started as a donation drop-off center at Veggie Island on Beach 96th Street has evolved into a larger, long-term initiative of community rebuilding.

Says the group, “We are now furthering our role in the community with ongoing programs to enhance the wellbeing of residents. Please follow us on Facebook and at smallwater.org for all upcoming events.”
