Smith-Breslin Honored

A local Rockaway business owner is being awarded for her determination to get back to business as usual and beyond. Liz Smith-Breslin, owner of the Blue Bungalow on Beach 116th Street has been recognized for her efforts to make an impact with her small business.

Rockaway native, Smith-Breslin was honored at the Manhattan Club on April 12th by the Irish Echo Newspaper as one of their “Irish American Business 50” for 2013.

In addition to being recognized by the paper, Smith-Breslin received the “Hurricane Sandy Recovery Relief Award”, presented by NYC Commissioner of Small Business, Robert Walsh, for her extraordinary efforts to revitalize the Beach 116th commercial corridor after Hurricane Sandy.

Smith-Breslin was recently named President of the Beach 116th Merchants Association for her determination to improve the business district and her continuous work to help bring business back to the community.
