Trees For Dunes Now

Dear Editor:

As we continue to clean up after Sandy, we are now removing several evergreens from our property. As I look around at my neighbors’ homes I see that they will also have to do the same. Why are we not disposing these trees at the beach to build dunes like they did in New Jersey? Some wood and wire fencing, people filling them up, we could have dunes in months. With rain and wind drifting and packing it, the dunes become like concrete. It’s free, it protects our homes, where is the Trees for Dunes drive? We have already wasted a huge opportunity to achieve this after Christmas, let’s not let Spring clean-up be another missed opportunity!!!

To those who are worried about a “view,” be more worried about continuing to have a home to “view” from.
