Tax Lien Assistance Meeting Set For Monday
Do you owe taxes on your property or on water or sewer? Have these debts put you in danger of losing your home? On April 22nd a tax lien assistance and informational event will be held at the Far Rockaway office of Councilman Donovan Richards.
“It is extremely important that everyone understands their finances, especially now that our nation finds itself in this recession,” Richards said. “I want to make sure that my district has as many resources and as much information as possible. We need to understand what is going on, in order to empower ourselves and our community.”
Richards and the Department of Finance are hosting the event. Among others who will be there are representatives from the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and Ocean Bay Community Development Corporation.
This session is designed to offer information and help anyone who is at risk of losing their home, is in debt to HPD, or currently owes taxes on property, water or sewerage. The event will take place April 22nd at 1526 Central Avenue in Far Rockaway from 6 pm to 8 pm.
