Clean The Rock, Clean The Block

Hurricane Sandy may have been more than five months ago, but there’s still a lot of work to be done. The Rockaway Youth Task Force wants to do their part by cleaning up the community.

On April 20th, RYTF is asking for volunteers to come and join them in their effort to clean the streets of Rockaway. They will provide all of the necessary materials. They just need bodies.

People of all ages are encouraged to come pick up a broom and a trash bag, put on a smile and take to the streets of Rockaway to clean them up. This will provide students with an excellent opportunity to volunteer and receive community service hours.

RYTF will meet on April 20th (Rain date April 27th), in front of the Beach 60th street Subway Station at 1:00 p.m.

The Rockaway Youth Task Force is a group that empowers the local youth through civic engagement and volunteer opportunities. They seek to spark social change in the Rockaways through youth leadership and provide ways to teenagers and young adults to become more productive citizens of the community.
