Dear Senators Schumer and Gillibrand:

You screwed up, didn’t you? You voted Yes on Biggert-Waters having NO CLUE about flood insurance rates skyrocketing for hundreds of thousands of people in New York.

Did you know that FEMA would advise THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of people to elevate their homes? When you voted there was no Sandy Relief Aid – which means you were expecting us to elevate our homes without aid. Or pay crushing flood insurance premiums. You put the same drastic burden on businesses and apartment buildings.

We’ve been given some choices: pay the crushing premiums, somehow elevate houses, and/or watch property values tank and businesses go under.

What’s your choice? Admitting you didn’t know or admitting you didn’t care? Admitting you screwed up or admitting you knew we’d have to pay through the nose?

Either way, you’ve done a huge disservice to New Yorkers and DO NOT DESERVE TO BE REELECTED.

How can we vote for someone who exposed our communities to this? How can we call you a representative when you all you did was screw us?
