Parks Wants To Hear From You

Rockaway and Broad Channel residents looking to have a voice in how the beach and parks are rebuilt will have their chance at two different forums in early April.

Under the banner of “Rebuild Rockaway Beach,” the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking input on rebuilding beaches and neighborhood parks that were affected by Hurricane Sandy.

As a release from Parks expresses it, “This is an opportunity to share and discuss your visions for the future of our parks throughout Rockaway,”

There will be two sessions facilitated by Partnerships for Parks staff.

The first session will be on Saturday, April 6th from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Beach Channel High School, 100-00 Beach Channel Drive, Rockaway Park.

The second session is on Sunday, April 7th, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at PS 197, 825 Hicksville Road, Far Rockaway.

An RSVP is requested for each session. Interested parties may reply by Tuesday, April 2nd, to Jonathan Matt by e-mail at Jonathan.Matt@parks.nyc.gov or by phone to 212- 520-5939.

Participants are asked to include which session, full name, organization and email address for themselves and each guest.
