MTA: Easter/Passover Schedule Changes

Going somewhere? The MTA has some updates on transit services through the holidays.

The New York City Subway and Staten Island Railway will operate on regular weekday schedules throughout Passover, which started on Monday, March 25th, and on Good Friday, March 29th. A normal Sunday schedule will be in effect on Easter Sunday, March 31st. However, there will be some adjustments to MTA services as noted below.

New York City Buses

On Good Friday, March 29th, there will be no limited-stop bus service in Staten Island on the S81, S84, S86, S90, S91, S92, S94, S96 and S98 bus routes.

Long Island Rail Road

On Friday, March 29th, the LIRR will operate a regular weekday schedule with eight additional early afternoon trains departing Penn Station between 2:08 p.m. and 3:48 p.m. for customers leaving work early in observance of Passover or Good Friday. There will be three additional trains on the Babylon Branch, three on the Port Jefferson Branch, one on the Port Washington Branch, and one on the Far Rockaway Branch.

Metro-North Railroad

Metro-North will operate a regular weekday schedule throughout Passover and Good Friday. On Easter Sunday, March 31st, an extra train will depart from New Haven Union Station at 7:47 p.m., making stops at Milford, Stratford, Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield and Westport before running express to Harlem-125th Street and Grand Central, where it is scheduled to arrive at 9:25 p.m. This train is listed in current timetables.

MTA Bridges and Tunnels

All temporary roadway closures will be lifted by 1 p.m. on Friday, March 29th, in anticipation of an early rush-hour period.
