Locals Still Helping

Since Hurricane Sandy struck, Lisa James and her family have brought hot food, needed items and caring to their Rockaway neighbors.

Once a month they set up shop in front of her aunt’s house just off Rockaway Beach Boulevard and until, recently, within sight of the block of burnt out stores there.

The James family will be out once again on Saturday afternoon, March 30th. They will be distributing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, as well as serving up hot soup, sandwiches and salads.

The invite everyone to come down and share some hot food and warm smiles with them. Address: 193 Beach 114th Street.
