Shortly after 8:30 a.m. a silver Nissan Murano, red Ford Focus and black Kia Sorento collided at the intersection of Newport Avenue and Beach 128th Street.

Unconfirmed reports state the Kia may have passed the stop sign on Beach 128th Street, striking one vehicle traveling on Newport Avenue and sending it careening into another vehicle.

All vehicles suffered substantial front end damage and debris was scattered over the road. As for as drivers or passengers, the NYPD’s department of Public Information could only say that there appeared to be no fatalities.

On the scene shortly after the accident were two FDNY fire units, an NYPD squad car, a Department of Sanitation truck and a street sweeper, as well as two tow trucks.
