NM Church Brings Christmas To Redfern PAL

A New Mexico church will be bringing Christmas in February to the residents of Far Rockaway this weekend when the Cornerstone PAL at Redfern will be giving out supplies collected by the church.

After arrangements with a sister church in Queens fell through Pastor Anita Hartley of the New Mexico church A.Hart4God Ministries International and Worship Center contacted The Wave’s former managing editor, Howard Schwach for his advice.

“He told me to contact the101st Precinct.

“I did and received a call back from Officer Campbell,” said Hartley. She then also contacted the Police Athletic League’s Manny Fiallo to set things in motion.

Among the supplies that will be available for residents are medical supplies, oxygen tubing, wheel chairs, games, toys, bibles, school supplies, an Air Hockey machine for the center, and various other items. There will also be a few coats and baby items.

The items have been shipped to New York and will be available for distribution on Saturday, February 23rd at the Redfern Community Center located at 1544 Hassock Street from 1 to 4 p.m.
