“A few weeks after Hurricane Sandy, the Harbor Light regulars gathered around a burn barrel in the parking lot for some drinks,” reported Rockaway resident Mary Tufts.

They “put a Christmas wreath on the front steps and everyone posed for this photo on the steps.”

“Very Rockaway,” she added.

The photo itself was taken by Shannon Roche, a former employee of Harbor Light Pub, who is now studying nursing in Scranton, PA. The pub itself was destroyed by fire on the night of the hurricane.
