Beach Ideas That Help

Dear Editor:

I was just reading in the WAVE about putting up dunes and using discarded Christmas trees on the beach to deter sand erosion, I think it’s a good idea, and may I suggest some natural grasses there as well such as “Spartina” (Eel grass) to keep the sand in place (also catches “floating trash” and adds oxygen to the water) as well. If it were possible to get some shell fish (clams and oysters) seeded back into the Bay and beach surf zone (they are filter feeders and clean the waters) it would be helpful for the environment as well.

Folks that can help.
