Goldfeder: Waive Vehicle Fees

Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder is urging Governor Cuomo to waive vehicle registration fees for people replacing Sandy destroyed cars.

In a letter to the Governor, he requested that Cuomo include an appropriation in his 21-day amendments that would cover the costs of a vehicle registration fee wavier.

“So many families in Southern Queens and the Rockaway lost everything in Hurricane Sandy and are already grappling with the financial burden of rebuilding their homes,” said Goldfeder.

“The cost of registering a replacement vehicle should be the furthest worry from [their] minds; especially now when every last penny is critical for us to put the pieces of our homes and lives back together.”

In his letter to the governor, Goldfeder noted that some 200,000 plus vehicles were destroyed as a result of Hurricane Sandy.
