Deacon Ernest “Chuck” Grant, an exterminator, died on January 16th at age 76.

A Rockaway resident for more than 40 years, he was a member on the Queens Church of the First Born.

Grant was preceded in death by his father, Murphy Grant; mother, Hampy Jones; sons, Ernest Grant Jr., Kevin Williams and Steven Williams and daughter, Yvonne Wil-liams.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Grant; sons, Darryl Williams (Lisa), Michael Dawson (Michelle), Ramel Davis, Larry Woods and William Baker; daughters, Linda Grant, Rita McFadden, Donna Williams-Palmer (Allen), Melba Jones, Desi Thomas, Sharifa Davis, Takisha Davis and Shamaine Davis; two stepdaughters; mother-in-law, Ester Norris; 38 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, three godchildren from the church and many family and friends.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jeremiah C. Gaffney Funeral Home of Inwood, NY.
